RichHARD hoffMAN

The Subversive Post Office is the creation of British artist RichHARD HoffMAN. The series explores social commentary, and the journey and transformation into something that can never be, within the traditional establishment. Through his miniature brushwork over mint postage stamps, he creates tiny works of subversive destruction.
A postage stamp represents the payment for a journey, self-containing cultural references and history. He embraces this symbolism as a means to bring viewers on a voyage without taking a step by subverting the innate cultural iconography found on the postage stamp through his unique and British sense of humor.
Originally from the Cronx- London; he was trained at Central Saint Martins and now works from his studio in Sitges, Barcelona.
RichHARD’s work has been shown internationally including Chicago, Miami, Barcelona, Madrid, London, Los Angeles, Singapore, Brussels, Hong Kong and New York.
