‘YELLOW’ – REFRACTIONS

The Refractions series explores the movement, texture, and luminosity of light as it interacts with textured and translucent surfaces. Through these drawings, Cubell captures real yet fleeting visual moments, where the play of glass and colored light creates ephemeral scenes. While grounded in realism, her unique approach to capturing shapes, movements, and occasionally objects imbues the work with a sense of obscurity and unfamiliarity.
